Doctoral students of the 8D01505 – Geography educational program at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, A.S. Nurgazina and A.T. Isabayev, are undertaking an international scientific internship at University of Gdańsk from April 20 to May 20, 2026. The internship is being conducted in the city of Gdańsk under the supervision of the foreign scientific advisor, Professor Jan A. Wendt.
Currently, the doctoral students are actively engaged in research activities within the international academic environment and are carrying out a number of significant initiatives aimed at professional and scientific exchange. As part of the internship, lectures on the subject “Landscape Studies” were delivered to second-year students, during which modern research trends in geographical science were discussed. In addition, the progress of the dissertation research is being analyzed, and a scientific article comparing the educational systems of Poland and Kazakhstan is being prepared.
As a continuation of these activities, today, on May 15, 2026, an international scientific seminar entitled “Challenges in Writing a Dissertation and Ways to Overcome Them” was organized at the University of Gdańsk. During the seminar, the doctoral students delivered scientific presentations highlighting current issues encountered in the research process and proposing effective solutions. The event contributed to strengthening international scientific cooperation and promoting academic exchange of experience.
