On July 10, a prominent Kazakhstani scholar, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, a leading expert in the field of special and inclusive education, and a researcher of the issues of socialization and integration of persons with special educational needs — Zulfiya Akhmetvaliyevna Movkebayeva is celebrating her anniversary.
Z.A. Movkebayeva stood at the origins of the formation and development of the inclusive education system in the Republic of Kazakhstan. She has made a significant contribution to the development of the scientific and methodological foundations of special education, the creation of regulatory and legal frameworks, the training of highly qualified specialists, and the introduction of modern inclusive practices into the education system. She initiated the establishment and headed the Resource Advisory Center for Inclusive Education for higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Virtual Laboratory of Inclusive Education.
She is the author of educational programs, textbooks, and teaching and methodological manuals, as well as the head of research projects and programs. More than 350 scientific works and publications have been published by her. Under the supervision of Z.A. Movkebayeva, master’s and doctoral (PhD) dissertations in the field of special pedagogy have been successfully defended.
For her significant contribution to the development of pedagogical science and higher education, she was awarded the title of “Best University Teacher” and received state honors.
