Zhetysu University improves its position in the Webometrics global ranking
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an international ranking of university web resources conducted by the Spanish research group Laboratorio de Internet, which specializes in studying educational and research activities in the online environment.
Webometrics is a global ranking based on a comprehensive set of indicators that assess a university’s digital presence and web resources, as well as the research publication activity of its scholars reflected in bibliometric systems such as Scopus and Google Scholar.
According to the Webometrics – Ranking Web of Universities, published in the first half of 2026, Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov ranked 9,127th among more than 32,000 universities from over 200 countries worldwide and 48th among 124 higher education institutions in Kazakhstan.
In the previous ranking period, the University was placed 19,176th. Thus, Zhetysu University improved its position by more than 10,000 places, reflecting systematic efforts to strengthen its digital presence, enhance the quality of its online communications, and further develop the University’s image in the digital environment.
Participation in international rankings contributes to the continued development of Zhetysu University’s digital and research visibility, strengthens its presence in the global education and research community, and opens up new opportunities for international cooperation and academic integration.
