On November 3, the Council of Young Scientists of the Non-Profit Joint-Stock Company “Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov” organized an online information seminar on opportunities for research internships abroad. The event was held via Zoom in Conference Hall 313 of the University and brought together faculty members, young researchers, master’s students, and doctoral students.
The invited speakers were Almasbek Yessenbekovich Zhanabylov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Center for International Programs,” and Gulzat Kairatovna Assanbayeva, Chief Manager of the Department for Organizing Document Submissions. The Center’s representatives introduced the participants to internship opportunities at leading foreign universities and research institutions and explained the eligibility requirements, application procedure, and stages of the competitive selection process.
An important part of the meeting was the exchange of personal experiences. R. S. Zheldibayeva, PhD, Chair of the Council of Young Scientists, and M. K. Abaydeldanova, PhD, a member of the Council, shared their experiences of undertaking research internships abroad and answered the participants’ questions. Their presentations complemented the information about the program with practical recommendations and insights from researchers who had personally completed international internships.
The seminar was conducted as an open dialogue, allowing participants to ask questions of the representatives of the Center for International Programs and colleagues who had already completed academic and research training abroad.
The meeting helped participants gain a better understanding of international academic mobility opportunities and identify the next steps in their professional and research development.
