Brief information about the project

Project title: AP08857092 «Organization of pre-university training of persons with disabilities in the system of inclusive higher education» (period of implementation 2020-2022 (27 months))

Summary:

Hypothesis of the project: if we design and scientifically substantiate the model of pre-university training of people with disabilities; develop educational and rehabilitation programs; programs of psychological and pedagogical support of professional self-determination; distance courses and introduce into the educational and rehabilitation process of pre-university training, the number of applicants with disabilities who made the right professional choice and entered the university will increase, because they will be provided with the opportunity to hear and understand the needs of the students.

Project goal:

The purpose of the project is to develop, theoretically justify and experimentally test the system of pre-university training of persons with disabilities, aimed at developing professionally significant abilities, increasing educational motivation and forming adaptation to the conditions of study at the university.

Relevance:

The priority direction of the state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan remains the development of inclusiveness of higher education and increasing its accessibility for people with disabilities. Pre-University training contributes to the solution of these tasks, which is an important stage on the way to a conscious higher education and profession. However, there are a number of unresolved problems: the principles and goals of pre-University training are not clearly defined, optimal methods and means of training for people with disabilities are not identified, and theoretical and practical ways of its organization in the system of inclusive higher education are not sufficiently developed.

Expected results:

1) The field of application of the research – preparatory courses of higher education institutions. The target users of each of the expected results are applicants with disabilities, teachers of preparatory courses at the university.

2) Effective implementation of the project results will have a positive impact on the development of the adaptation and socialization program for people with disabilities and the development of inclusive education in Kazakhstan.

3) The results obtained will arouse the interest of universities that want to organize pre-university training for people with disabilities.

4) The social effect of the project results is manifested primarily in the possibility of obtaining a quality higher education for people with disabilities through the right choice of future professions. Persons with disabilities will be in demand in the labor market. Education in the university gives economic independence, promoting increase of the social status of the student with the limited possibilities of health, transforming it from the passive consumer of social services in the active and qualified citizen of society, having equal rights along with all.

5) A model, rehabilitation and educational programs for pre-university training, distance courses for people with disabilities, adapted electronic teaching and learning complexes, video and audio lectures, webinars, didactic materials, special technical means of teaching collective and individual use will be developed.

Achieved results:

– the model of the organization of effective pre-university training of persons with disabilities is designed and scientifically substantiated, aimed at the development of professionally significant abilities, increasing educational motivation and the formation of adaptation to the conditions of study at the university;

-the psychological and pedagogical conditions for the organization of effective pre-university training of persons with disabilities have been identified: awareness by applicants of the importance of obtaining higher education, the creation of a material and technical base for the organization of pre-university training of persons with disabilities, the development of scientific and methodological support for the organization of pre-university training of persons with disabilities, the organization of distance courses for persons with disabilities in the system of inclusive higher education;

-the criteria of readiness for training of persons with disabilities in higher education are revealed: psychological (motivational, intellectual, emotional-volitional), subject, availability of knowledge, skills and abilities in subjects for admission to university, preparedness in specialized subjects, information and activity (awareness of the future profession, rules of admission to university, knowledge of credit technology, computer literacy, ability to perform educational and cognitive activities, independent work), social and communicative (the ability to find a common language with other students and teachers, the ability to establish constructive interaction with communication partners, the ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions, assimilation of a social role);

-persons with disabilities who can undergo pre-university training on the basis of the ZHU named after I. Zhansugurov have been identified. These are children with hearing loss, visually impaired, with disorders of the musculoskeletal system, with protective intelligence, with speech disorders, with a cochlear implant;

-on the basis of the Faculty of Distance Education of Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov was opened a group of pre – university training.
