On November 3, 2022, at secondary school No. 17 in Taldykorgan, a methodological seminar was held for teachers of geography of the Zhetysu region on the topic “Effective ways to develop disciplinary and interdisciplinary competencies of students” in conjunction with Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov and the regional educational and methodological center for the development of education. It was attended by 26 subject teachers from 8 districts.
The seminar discussed effective methods for the formation of subject and meta-subject competence and the development of functional literacy based on the development of complex geological, geomorphological, climatic and hydrological concepts by students.
The methods of using a modern interactive digital map and a three-dimensional virtual Earth model Google Earth Pro operating in a real-time system created on the basis of GIS technology in accordance with the educational objectives of the updated content standard curriculum are discussed.
