AMBASSADOR OF CANADA TO KAZAKHSTAN

Ambassador of Canada to Kazakhstan Alan Hamson visited Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov and lectured to students on gender policy. This meeting was held as part of the annual action «16 days of active action against gender violence».

Zhuldyz Mamanova, a student of educational programs of journalism and information, had a conversation with a foreign citizen. In the program «Студия қонағы» Alan Hamson spoke about the equality of men and women, the peculiarities of mentality peculiar to each nation, and shared foreign experience in combating transnational corruption.

Gender violence, discrimination is a global problem. Gender equality, the protection of women’s rights and the prevention of gender-based discrimination are the position of a civilized country. However, many women experience domestic violence and are shy or afraid to tell others. To prevent this from happening, we must raise people’s legal literacy», – Alan Hamson said.

At the end of the meeting, the winners of the case-championship on gender equality were awarded certificates.
