The Zhetysu University opened the Center for the Study of Corruption Problems “Zhanaru”.
In this center, scientists and students will study the issues of forming state policy in the fight against corruption at a scientific level.
At Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov held а round table on the topic “Youth is the main support of the state in the fight against corruption”. It was attended by the Chairman of the Republican public association of the nationwide movement against corruption “Zhanaru” Mels Semgaliev, state and public figure Beibit Mamrayev, heads of the department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption, the Agency for Civil Service Affairs, the Department of Judicial Administration in Zhetysu region and local executive bodies, as well as the prosecutor of Zhetysu region and the chairman of the regional court.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Zhetysu University Ermek Buribaev, who focused on the role of youth in the fight against corruption.
Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption movement “Zhanaru” Mels Semgaliyev made a report, noting that the fight against corruption is a requirement of society. Sayan Akhmetzhanov, head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Zhetysu region, spoke about the facts of corruption in the region and made a proposal from students of Zhetysu university to create a youth organization “Zhas Kyran” in order to strengthen the fight against it. This proposal was unanimously supported by active students. The representative of the regional institution “Jetisy jastary” Arnai Baizhurinov spoke on behalf of the youth.
“The harm of corruption is first felt by young people. Because of corruption, young people are deprived of the opportunity to get an education, get a position, and develop a career. And our main goal is to achieve success with our honest work. Therefore, it is necessary to involve more and more people in the fight against corruption,”he said. Students of Zhetysu University also expressed their views on corruption and asked their questions.
During the meeting, with the support of the Republican public Association “National Anti-Corruption movement” ZHANARU”, A Center for the study of corruption problems “Zhanaru” was opened on the basis of the University. It will scientifically study the causes that contribute to corruption, improve the legal literacy of young people.
