At the Zhetysu University, named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, an event titled “No Way for Drugs!” was held with the aim of building immunity against drugs among students.
All students of the institution participated in the event.
The gathering was attended by the Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy, Bolat Seriev, and the Head of the Taldykorgan City Police Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ernар Shirbaev, who emphasized that the fight against drug addiction is an important task. They discussed the need to avoid harmful habits and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
“Today, the drug issue has become a global disease, a worldwide problem. The majority of those affected by this illness are young people. The President frequently raises the issue of preserving the nation’s genetic pool. In this regard, comprehensive measures are being taken in our country to combat the illegal circulation of drugs, with every state structure, especially law enforcement agencies, working effectively. This event will continue to be held regularly within the framework of a memorandum with the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” said the Vice-Rector.
As part of the event, the police department organized an exhibition for students showcasing service vehicles, weapons, and the work of the K9 unit.
It is worth noting that the event was financed within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Science Committee, under number BR 24992927.
