Zhetysu University hosted an international scientific and practical conference titled “Global Transformations of Contemporary Society: Climate Change, Migration, and Sustainable Development Strategies.”
The event brought together Kazakhstani and international scholars, experts, faculty members, early-career researchers, and students. Among the participants were representatives of leading academic and research institutions, including the University of Zurich, Lund University, the GEO Knowledge Hub Center, and Eötvös Loránd University.
The primary objective of the conference was to establish an interdisciplinary academic platform for discussing issues related to climate change, migration, and sustainable development.
Throughout the conference, participants examined a wide range of topics, including climate-induced migration, sustainable development, gender mobility, the legal regulation of migration processes, environmental vulnerability of populations, shifts in climate zones, and adaptation to contemporary climate challenges.
The international forum facilitated the exchange of scholarly ideas, strengthened academic collaboration, and contributed to the development of new research initiatives in the fields of climate migration, sustainable development, and social adaptation.
