On September 10, 2026, Assel Orazbayeva, the group curator, conducted a curatorial hour entitled “First Step into University: Introduction to the Academic System and Infrastructure” for first-year students of the 6B06103 — “Information Systems Architecture” educational programme.
During the curatorial hour, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs M. M. Tokanov, Deputy Dean for Educational and Student Affairs D. E. Kuatova, and Head of the Department L. A. Smagulova conducted an information and orientation session to familiarise the students with the academic system and infrastructure of Zhetysu University.
During the event, the students received detailed information about the organisation of the educational process, the features of the credit-based learning system, the use of class schedules, the student assessment system, and the academic calendar. They were also informed about the procedures for using the university’s electronic learning platforms, student personal accounts, library resources, and digital resources.
As part of the orientation tour, the students visited the university’s academic buildings and became acquainted with its classrooms, computer laboratories, research library, sports complex, swimming pool, STEM laboratory, cafeteria, and student service centres. Particular attention was also paid to safety requirements, internal regulations, the principles of academic integrity, and students’ rights and responsibilities.
At the end of the event, the students asked questions of interest and received comprehensive answers. The orientation activities were aimed at helping first-year students adapt to the university environment, organise their studies effectively, and make full use of the opportunities and facilities provided by the university.
