Scientific research visit to Baku State University

Member of the project Aigarinova G.T. paid a business trip to Baku State University in Baku, Azerbaijan, within the framework of a research project on the topic “Legal regulation of the operation and safety of hydraulic structures in the context of sustainable development”. During the visit, a meeting was held with the rector of Baku State University Yelchin Babayev, the dean of the Faculty of Law Zaur Aliyev and other members of the teaching staff, and proposals were received on the issues of improving the legislation in the field of safety of hydraulic structures of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and on the use of a comparative legal approach in the analysis of the legislation of different states. During the work, scientific and theoretical materials, analytical reviews and regulatory sources of interest for the implementation of the research project were collected.
Also, scientific consultations were held with teachers of the relevant departments of Baku State University.
The following were discussed at the consultations:
Current issues of legal regulation of hydraulic structures;
Issues of ensuring the environmental safety of water bodies;
Experience of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of operation of hydraulic structures;
international standards and recommendations on water resources management were considered. During the scientific trip, the following results were achieved:
1. A significant amount of scientific and regulatory literature on the legal regulation of the use of hydraulic structures and their safety was collected.
2. The experience of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of water resources management and the use of hydraulic structures was studied.
3. A comparative legal analysis of individual aspects of the legislation of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan was conducted.
4. Scientific consultations were received from leading specialists of Baku State University.
5. Professional contacts were established for the further development of international scientific cooperation
The materials and results obtained as a result of the scientific trip to Baku State University are of practical and scientific importance for the further implementation of the project, the preparation of scientific publications and the development of proposals for improving legislation on the use and safety of hydraulic structures.
