From November 26 to December 10, 2025, within the framework of the research project IRN AP26197965 “The Everyday Life of Ethnic Repatriates in Post-Soviet Kazakhstan: Adaptive Strategies and Integration Practices (a case study of the Zhetysu Region),” funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an official business trip was organized to the city of Almaty. The project leader, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Baigabatova N.K., senior researchers PhD Abyzova A.M. and PhD Abdrakhim M.E., as well as junior researcher Yenseyeva V.T., conducted research work and collected project-related materials at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies, the A. Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics, and the Al-Farabi Scientific Library. During the trip, the research team identified and collected mass media materials from the 1990s–2000s addressing issues of repatriates’ adaptation that were not preserved in digital format. In addition, published archival documents and collections of official materials related to repatriation processes were examined. A historiographical analysis of academic literature was conducted, and dissertations defended in the Republic of Kazakhstan on this topic were selected and reviewed. As a result, a comprehensive information base was formed, including new publications and valuable scientific data.
