LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF WATER SAMPLES FROM THE KARATAL RIVER CONDUCTED

As part of the research project AR26102759, “Study of the impact of physicochemical and biological pollution of glaciers on water quality and
individual indicators of flora and fauna of the Karatal River ecosystem,” laboratory studies were carried out in Almaty from March 19 to 21, 2026.

During the visit, water samples collected from the Karatal, Shyzhy, and Kora rivers were analyzed at the specialized laboratory of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. The analyses included the determination of physicochemical parameters, mineralization levels, pH values, dissolved salt content, and potential pollutants.

In addition, qualitative and quantitative analyses of chemical elements in the water samples were conducted using a modern X-ray fluorescence
spectrometer. The obtained results were incorporated into the project database and will be used to assess the ecological condition of the Karatal River
ecosystem.
