“Do People Know Ilyas?” University Hackathon

On December 10, 2025, the university hackathon “Do People Know Ilyas?” was held with the aim of sparking young people’s interest in the works of Ilyas Zhansugurov, developing skills in writing scientific projects, expressive reading, creating book trailers, as well as completing creative tasks in a team format. The main idea of the event was to present the works of Ilyas Zhansugurov on AI platforms and to enhance students’ research, analytical, reading, and digital competencies.

The jury included the Director of the Ilyas Zhansugurov Literary Museum, Nurgul Kyzyrbekovna Zhауynbayeva, as well as alumnae of our university — Aigerim Serikkhankyzy, editor of the “Special Report” program on the “Zhetysu” TV channel, and Yenlik Bauyrzhankyzy Kenebay, journalist and executive secretary of the “Jetisŷ” newspaper.

In the final stage, first- and second-year students of the Humanities, Physics and Mathematics, and Pedagogy and Psychology Faculties presented their digital projects, expressively read the poet’s works, and showcased their book trailers.

The winners of the hackathon received diplomas and gifts on behalf of the Chairman of the Board – Rector E.A. Buribayev, and their academic supervisors were awarded certificates of appreciation.
