At the Regional Summit held in Astana, higher education institutions and scientific organizations of the country presented their achievements at a specially organized exhibition.
Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov also took an active part in the Summit, showcasing projects in the fields of green technologies and sustainable development. At the exhibition focused on ensuring environmental sustainability, the Rector of Zhetysu University, Yermek Buribayev, presented the scientific results and products developed by the university’s researchers in two main areas:
- Green Economy and Waste-Free Technologies – Green Zhetysu University
- Creation of Smart and Environmentally Friendly Campuses – the University Smart Ecosystem
The exhibition also featured prototypes of startup projects being implemented at the university. In particular, these included electric vehicles (a compact pit bike, an electric bicycle, a flagship electric bike, and a cargo motorcycle), a wheelchair attachment designed for people with disabilities, a portable desktop extruder for producing filament from granules and plastic waste, as well as the Safe-Guard autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) equipped with computer vision and night vision cameras for monitoring and protecting territories.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, who visited the exhibition, paid special attention to the projects of Zhetysu University and gave a high assessment of their scientific and practical significance.
