Meeting of Akim of the region Beibut Isabayev with students

Akim of the Zhetysu Region Beibit Isabayev paid a special visit to Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov and, for the first time, held a large-scale open meeting with the student community.

Prior to the meeting, the Head of the Region toured an exhibition of scientific projects presented by the university’s young researchers and student inventors, highly appreciating their research achievements and innovative initiatives.

During the open dialogue, the Akim engaged students in a meaningful discussion on social culture, education and spirituality, civic consciousness, legal and information literacy, as well as the values of integrity and responsibility.

The Regional Head also reflected on the ideas presented by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the international symposium “The Golden Horde as a Model of Steppe Civilization: History, Archaeology, Culture, and Identity,” emphasizing that knowledge of national history plays a vital role in shaping the historical consciousness of young people.

The discussion further explored Al-Farabi’s concept of a virtuous society as outlined in his treatise The Virtuous City, as well as Abai Kunanbayuly’s doctrine of the Complete Human Being and his views on the value of education. Particular attention was given to the principle of Adal Adam (“The Honest Person”), highlighting that societal development begins with the inner culture, moral integrity, and ethical values of every citizen.

The Akim also underscored the importance of the principle of “Law and Order,” noting that it should serve not only as a foundation for the work of law enforcement institutions but also as a guiding principle and civic responsibility for every member of society.

Special attention was devoted to the topics of digitalization and artificial intelligence. According to the Regional Head, future generations must not only master advanced technologies but also possess critical thinking skills, adaptability to a rapidly changing environment, and a strong commitment to preserving national values.

He also noted that, at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the United Nations has proclaimed 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development. In this regard, he outlined a number of regional initiatives that will be implemented to support this agenda.

At the conclusion of the meeting, students raised questions concerning human values, public service, social support, and the future development of the region, receiving open, comprehensive, and thoughtful responses from the Akim.
