From May 19 to 21, 2026, the Republic of Kazakhstan U-23 Athletics Championship was held in Shymkent. Around 800 athletes from 17 regions and 3 cities took part in the competition.
Students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts at Zhetysu university named after I. Zhansugurov achieved outstanding results:
Omar Aibol — 1st place in the 1500 m race
Ayana Bolatbekkyzy — 1st place in the 1500 m race
Omar Aibol — 1st place in the 5000 m race
Ayana Bolatbekkyzy — 1st place in the 800 m race
Dagara Tumarbekova — 1st place in the 10000 m race
Akbayan Nurmamet — 2nd place in the 1500 m race
Dagara Tumarbekova — 3rd place in the 5000 m race
Akbayan Nurmamet — 3rd place in the 800 m race
📌 Ayana Bolatbekkyzy fulfilled the standard for the title of Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
📌 Ayana Bolatbekkyzy and Akbayan Nurmamet qualified for the Asian U-23 Championship. The championship will take place in July in Ордос, Қытай.
Their coach is Sepbosynov Yerken Maratuly — President of the Zhetysu Region Athletics Federation, Senior Athletics Coach of Zhetysu Region, and a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts.
