The First Step Towards Archaeological Research: Orientation Conference for Archaeological Field Work

On June 8, 2026, an introductory conference for the archaeological field training practice was held for second-year students of the 6B01602 – History and Social Studies educational program. The event was organized in accordance with the approved academic schedule. Students were introduced to the practice program, its objectives, tasks, and organizational procedures.

During the conference, participants were informed about the main areas of archaeological fieldwork, methods of studying archaeological sites, excavation techniques, and procedures for documenting and describing discovered artifacts. Special attention was given to occupational health and safety requirements and fieldwork safety regulations.

The conference also highlighted the importance of archaeological research in preserving historical and cultural heritage and in advancing scholarly knowledge of the past. The event aimed to enhance students’ preparedness for the upcoming field practice and to foster their interest in scientific research activities.
