Today, researchers from Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov met with renowned U.S. scientist Dr. Janay Sagin, a Research Professor at Western Michigan University and an expert in engineering geomatics and water security. The meeting took place at the Oshaq Sustainable Development Center in Zharlyozek village.
The meeting was attended by Doctor of Technical Sciences Y. Andasbayev, Candidate of Technical Sciences M. Zhetimov, and PhD holders Zh. Akhmetov and B. Satkulov.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the current state of water resources in the Zhetysu region and across Kazakhstan, focusing on water security, water scarcity, and flood risk management. The researchers shared the results of their scientific studies and practical experience, exchanging views on modern approaches to sustainable and efficient water resources management.
