As part of the research project AP23488199 “Preparation of future teachers of preschool organizations for professional activity in the conditions of inclusive education” conducted at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, the project team participated in a research internship held in Batumi, Georgia, from July 13 to July 18, 2026.
The internship, entitled Preparing Future Preschool Teachers for Professional Activity in Inclusive Education Settings, was organized by the International Educational Center “Edumediator+” in cooperation with Shota Rustaveli Batumi State University. The project is led by PhD, Associate Professor G.S. Mailybayeva.
During the internship, the participants became acquainted with the principles of inclusive preschool education, the developmental disorders most frequently encountered in preschool settings, approaches to the psychological and pedagogical support of children with special educational needs, and the implementation of inclusive education in Georgia. The practical component of the internship included the analysis of individualized educational pathways for children with various developmental disabilities; case-study discussions on supporting children with special educational needs and identifying effective intervention strategies; the development of recommendations for creating an inclusive educational environment in preschool institutions; and the preparation and presentation of mini-projects aimed at improving inclusive preschool education practices based on international experience.
The participants also had the opportunity to learn from distinguished scholars and experts, including Dr. Darejan (Jana) Kakhiani, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Ilia State University; professors of Shota Rustaveli Batumi State University; Dr. Marine Aroshidze, Doctor of Philological Sciences and a distinguished representative of the academic community; Dr. Rusudan Beridze, Academic Doctor of Psychology and Associate Professor; and other leading specialists in the field.
The scientific internship was designed to integrate educational and research activities, enhance participants’ research competencies, facilitate the exchange of international experience, and promote the implementation of innovative pedagogical approaches in the preparation of future specialists in inclusive preschool education.
