Goals
- To conduct fundamental and applied research and development (R&D), taking into account the priority areas for the development of industry, science, and education in the Zhetysu Region, and to integrate their results into the educational process of Zhetysu University
Objectives
- Space-based monitoring of natural processes and environmental phenomena in the Zhetyu Region.
- Satellite monitoring of the influence of climatic conditions on vegetation growth and development.
- Satellite monitoring of irrigated agricultural systems to support the implementation of landscape-adapted farming systems (LAFS).
- Deployment of an online application for satellite-based monitoring and assessment of soil surface and root-zone moisture, based on the ratio of soil water volume to total soil volume.
- Processing of spatiotemporal data on vegetation cover degradation through the monitoring of long-term dynamics of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI).
- Processing spatiotemporal data on soil degradation and erosion levels through monitoring the dynamics of the Transformed Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index (TSAVI).
- Processing of spatial data on drought conditions and climate aridity through monitoring the long-term dynamics of the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI).
- Processing spatiotemporal snow cover data through monitoring the long-term dynamics of the Normalized Difference Snow Index (NDSI).
- Analysis of satellite-based geospatial data for small and medium-sized enterprises, focused on the development, management, and application of AI-driven solutions for data processing across a broad range of domains.
- Introduction of AI-driven satellite geospatial data analysis in agriculture, forestry, and ecological tourism to support the sustainable development of these sectors.
- Deployment of multifunctional digital platforms, such as EOS, LandViewer, Group Monitoring, Analytics – Time Series, Monitoring, and others, to optimize resources, time, and funding, support decision-making and forecasting, and contribute to environmental stabilization.
- Participation in the organization of the educational process, including the training of students, master’s and doctoral students, and the professional development of Zhetysu University’s academic and teaching staff.
