Field studies were conducted within the framework of the project.
From October 28 to November 11, 2025, within the framework of the research project IRN AP26197965 “The Everyday Life of Ethnic Repatriates in Post-Soviet Kazakhstan: Adaptive Strategies and Integration Practices (a case study of the Zhetysu Region),” funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ethnographic field studies were conducted in the Koksu and Eskeldi districts, as well as in the city of Tekeli. The fieldwork involved the project leader, Associate Professor Baigabatova N.K., senior researchers PhD Abyzova A.M. and PhD Abdrakhim M.E., as well as junior researcher Yenseyeva V.T. During the field studies, the research team conducted interviews with repatriates residing in the mentioned areas who had arrived from China, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan. In-depth interviews were carried out focusing on migration histories, everyday life, and the adaptation experiences of repatriates. In addition, interviews were organized with responsible specialists from the internal policy departments of local executive bodies regarding issues of social integration of repatriates. As a result of the work carried out, significant materials were collected, forming the empirical basis of the project.
