1,000 people arrived in traditional attire as Zhetysu University celebrated Nauryz.
The staff of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov held a festive celebration of Nauryz.
Chairman of the Board – Rector Yermek Buribayev congratulated everyone on the arrival of spring and highlighted the significance of Nauryz as a sacred day for the nation.
“Since ancient times, our people have celebrated Nauryz with special reverence. As part of the Nauryznama festivities, the university community organized a number of meaningful and beneficial activities. Saplings were planted in the university courtyard, and efforts were made to green and clean the surrounding area. Nauryz is not only a time of joy, but also a moment to reflect on the past and make plans for the future. The achievements of Zhetysu University in science and higher education are the result of your dedicated and diligent work,” he expressed in gratitude to the team.
During the celebration, all faculties and structural departments of the university presented performances dedicated to national values.
Traditional Kazakh clothing was showcased, while guests enjoyed an array of time-honored sports and a fair of traditional foods.
White yurts set up in the university square added a special charm to the festivities.
The celebration, aimed at honoring traditions and showcasing the richness of national heritage, continued with a concert program prepared by talented students and staff of the university.
The dress code for the event was traditional attire, and a thousand people participated in national costumes.
