Within the framework of the decade of science, on April 7, 2026, the Faculty of physics and mathematics held a seminar on the topic: “What is a patent? Conditions for obtaining a patent”. The main purpose of this event was to improve the legal literacy of students and young scientists in the field of intellectual property, familiarize them with the mechanisms of protection of scientific discoveries and explain the possibilities of commercialization of innovative ideas.
The seminar was conducted by Candidate of technical sciences zh.Sh. Uzdenbayev. In his report, he explained in detail the essence and significance of the patent, provided accurate information about the main stages of obtaining a patent, the list of necessary documents, the procedure for submitting an application and the features of passing the examination. In addition, the participants were presented with extensive information about the system of protection of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the possibilities of international patenting. During the event, comprehensive answers were given to the questions posed by students and young researchers, and the features of the process of obtaining a patent were explained using specific practical examples. The participants of the seminar gained useful experience in the design of research projects, copyright protection and legal registration of their ideas.
This seminar became an important platform for the development of Science and innovation, increasing the research potential of students and strengthening their interest in scientific activities.
