On April 15, 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, Mochamad Fadjroel Rachman, paid an official visit to Zhetysu University. The Ambassador held a meeting with the leadership of Zhetysu University, including Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs B. Taubayev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Internationalization A. Bakhtaulova, as well as faculty deans and representatives of the Center for International Cooperation.
During the meeting, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of strategic partnership between the two countries in the fields of science and higher education, including cooperation between universities, and expressed readiness to facilitate the establishment of ties with leading Indonesian universities.
In turn, the leadership of Zhetysu University expressed their gratitude to Ambassador Mochamad Fadjroel Rachman and confirmed their willingness to engage in joint research with Indonesian higher education institutions, implement academic mobility for faculty and students, and develop joint and double-degree educational programs.
Following the official meeting, the Ambassador met with students of Zhetysu University, introduced them to Indonesian culture, and shared information about educational opportunities in Indonesian universities. In addition, students and faculty had the opportunity to enjoy performances showcasing elements of Indonesian culture, including traditional dances and martial arts.
Going forward, Zhetysu University plans to establish partnerships with Indonesian universities with strong academic and research potential at the international level.
