On April 23, 2026, the traditional international scientific and practical conference “Zhansugurov Readings: The Heritage of Ilyas Zhansugurov in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” was held at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov. The event was organized in a blended format and brought together domestic and international scholars, researchers, university lecturers, school teachers, master’s students, and undergraduates.
The main purpose of the conference was to explore the heritage of Ilyas Zhansugurov from a modern academic perspective and to discuss current issues in the humanities in the era of artificial intelligence.
The event began at 9:00 AM with participant registration, followed by a flower-laying ceremony at the poet’s monument and the presentation of the traveling exhibition “The Legacy of the Poet Ilyas.”
As part of the conference, presentations of scholarly works dedicated to Ilyas Zhansugurov were held, including the monograph “Onomastic Characteristics of Ilyas Zhansugurov’s Works” by Shara Kiyakhmetova and the study “The Historical Significance of Ilyas Zhansugurov’s Works” by Erzhan Bulanov.
During the plenary session, speakers included Mesut Sönmez (Republic of Turkey), Perkhan Allambergenova (Republic of Uzbekistan), as well as Kazakhstani scholars Kanipash Madibayeva, Gulzhakhan Orda, Mamiliya Dzhakypbekova, Erzhan Bulanov, and first-year master’s student Dana Dosan. Their presentations addressed pressing issues in literary studies, history, journalism, and the interaction with artificial intelligence technologies.
In addition, during the sectional sessions, school teachers, young researchers, master’s students, and students presented their academic papers. At the end of the conference, participants were awarded certificates.
The international scientific and practical conference contributed to a renewed understanding of the heritage of Ilyas Zhansugurov and provided new momentum for the development of the humanities in the digital age.
