Second-year doctoral students of the Educational Program “8D01701 – Kazakh Language and Literature” at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, A.A. Altay and M.R. Razbekova, completed a scientific internship at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University (Republic of Türkiye) from May 1 to May 31, 2026.
The purpose of the internship was to exchange experience with foreign scholars, analyze research findings, and collect materials for their scientific research. During the internship, the doctoral students worked under the supervision of Professor Hikmet Koras, Head of the Department of Turkic Languages and Literature.
Throughout the internship, a number of meetings were held with the university administration, scholars, and researchers. During these meetings, participants discussed new developments in modern linguistics, current issues in Kazakh and Turkish linguistics, prospects for the development of linguistic science, and opportunities for strengthening academic cooperation.
As part of the internship, the doctoral students became acquainted with the university’s research centers and libraries and worked with relevant academic sources and research materials. Meetings with young researchers provided an opportunity to discuss several promising scientific projects in detail.
To facilitate effective academic exchange, a seminar entitled “New Aspects and Current Issues of Modern Linguistics” was organized. During the seminar, the participants presented their research findings and analyzed the new challenges facing linguistics in contemporary society. The doctoral students’ presentations received high praise, and they were awarded letters of appreciation in recognition of their contributions.
In addition, upon completion of the internship, the doctoral students were awarded certificates. Further joint academic initiatives and collaborative projects with Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University are planned for the future.
