Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov welcomed distinguished Italian writer, historian, public figure, and researcher Roberto Boltri on an official visit.
During a meeting with Chairman of the Board – Rector Yermek Buribayev, the parties discussed prospects for expanding international scientific and cultural cooperation, strengthening ties between universities in Kazakhstan and Italy, and exploring opportunities for the implementation of joint initiatives.
As part of his visit, Roberto Boltri presented two of his books to the University. The first publication is dedicated to the history of Karlag and the fate of Italian citizens who were in Kazakhstan during the years of political repression. In his second book, entitled “An Italian in Kazakhstan,” the author shares his personal impressions and reflections on the country.
Ermek Boribayev expressed his sincere appreciation to Roberto Boltri for his many years of dedication to strengthening humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Italy, supporting scientific and cultural initiatives, and demonstrating a strong interest in developing cooperation with Zhetysu University. In recognition of his contribution to fostering friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries, Roberto Boltri was awarded a Letter of Appreciation.
Roberto Boltri’s visit marked another important step in the development of Zhetysu University’s international partnerships and its efforts to expand cooperation with global academic and cultural communities.
