The faculty members of the Department of Public Administration and Management at Zhetysu University participated in a professional development program held in Astana from June 15 to 18, 2026, as part of the Modular Program for Developing the Functional Competencies of Leaders and Personnel Reserves of Local Government Bodies and Socio-Political Organizations organized by the Academy of Political Management of the Amanat Party.
Professor D.A. Kaldiyarov, Doctor of Economic Sciences, and Lecturer Zh.E. Turgambekova, PhD, enhanced their professional competencies through six training modules: Personal Leadership and Value Orientations; Managing the Development of Regions and Local Communities; Taxes for Development: From Revenue Generation to Local Impact; The Budgetary Vertical: From the National to the Village Level; Effective Communication with Citizens and Teams; and Political Campaigns: From Positioning to Trust and Public Support. During the final project stage, they further strengthened and demonstrated the competencies acquired throughout the program.
The program provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the political reforms implemented in the system of public and local governance in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2026. In addition, open lectures delivered by representatives of sectoral ministries and government agencies with extensive practical experience offered opportunities for active discussion, questions, and professional exchange.
Having acquired first-hand knowledge of developments in the field of public administration from primary sources, the faculty members of the Department of Public Administration and Management will integrate this experience into the teaching and learning process of students enrolled in educational programs within the fields of Public Administration and Management at Zhetysu University.
