From September 7 to 9, 2026, a national freestyle wrestling competition dedicated to the memory of Abilseit Aikhanov, Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held in Taldykorgan.

At the competition, Myktybek Ukimetuly, a student of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, demonstrated outstanding skill and secured second place in the 61 kg weight category.
