At Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, officers from the Taldykorgan City Police Department held a preventive awareness meeting with first-year students. The event was organized jointly with «Zhanaru», a national anti-corruption movement.
The meeting was chaired by Bolat Seriev, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy.
The meeting was attended by Galymzhan Myrzakhanov, Deputy Head of the Taldykorgan City Police Department, and Police Major Arnur Makashev.
Galymzhan Myrzakhanov noted that more than 30 criminal cases have been registered in Taldykorgan involving adolescents and young people aged 18–20. In this regard, he urged young people to refrain from unlawful conduct, comply with the law, and avoid suspicious offers or proposals.
Galymzhan Myrzakhanov also spoke about the serious consequences associated with the distribution of narcotic drugs through so-called “drop-off points” or “stash” schemes.
Students were advised not to respond to suspicious offers from strangers and to avoid becoming involved in illegal activities.
In turn, Police Major Arnur Makashev explained the concept of “dropper” activity, its harmful consequences, and key measures for protecting oneself against online fraud.
