Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov hosted a special commemorative event entitled “A Teacher Is a Great Personality”, dedicated to October 1 — Higher Education Workers’ Day and Teachers’ Day in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event highlighted the profound importance of the work carried out by university faculty, researchers and staff whose professional commitment contributes to the advancement of education and science. Particular emphasis was placed on the enduring role of teachers and mentors in shaping individuals and contributing to the intellectual and social development of society.
The university’s staff were congratulated by Bolat Seriyev, Member of the Executive Board and Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy. A number of employees whose dedicated service and professional contribution have supported the development of education were presented with Certificates of Merit and Letters of Appreciation from the Rector of the University, the sectoral trade union of education, science and higher education workers of Kazakhstan, as well as the local trade union “Zhetisu” representing employees of education, public-sector institutions, science and higher education.
Special words of gratitude were extended to veteran educators who have devoted many years of their lives to teaching, mentoring and educating generations of students.
The celebration continued with a concert programme featuring performances by artists of the regional philharmonic society, as well as students and staff of the University.
The University’s trade union organization also hosted a festive reception as a gesture of appreciation and recognition of the university community on the occasion of the professional holiday.
