In celebration of Rescuer’s Day, observed on October 19, the Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences, together with the Department of Emergency Situations of the Zhetisu Region, organized a joint event as part of the “Law and Order” initiative.
Department officers conducted an earthquake preparedness drill for students and teaching staff, demonstrating the evacuation procedure and appropriate actions to take in the event of an earthquake.
Students were given a practical demonstration of how firefighters rescue and lower an injured person from the third floor of a building using a rescue rope. They also learned how to extinguish a fire using a special “Vario” tool and a hose nozzle connected to an AC-5-40 fire truck.
During the event, students of the “Environmental Protection and Life Safety” educational program visited an exhibition of rescue equipment and vehicles. They had the opportunity to learn about the SPCh-20, KamAZ AC-5-40, PCh-2, ASA, OSO, quad bike, Toyota Hilux, TREKOL, and other firefighting and rescue vehicles.
As part of the event, the students learned several firefighting techniques and gained practical insight into the specifics and professional aspects of their chosen field.
