Scientific Seminar Held on the Zhas Galym Project and Grant Funding Competition for Young Scientists under Scientific and/or Scientific and Technical Projects.
On 30 October 2026, Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov hosted a scientific seminar organised by the Office of Scientific Projects and Technology Commercialisation. The seminar focused on the procedures for preparing and submitting applications for the Zhas Galym project and other grant funding competitions for young scientists. The event brought together faculty members, staff and young researchers of the University, as well as individuals interested in applying for the competitions.
During the seminar, L. Karasholakova, Director of the Department of Science and Commercialisation, presented the key requirements and specific features of the expert evaluation of applications submitted for the competitions. She emphasised the importance of ensuring that the content of each application complies with the competition requirements, that the research aim is aligned with its objectives, and that the scientific novelty and expected results are properly substantiated. She also explained the main criteria considered during the evaluation process and discussed common shortcomings encountered in competition applications.
A. Altai, Head of the Office of Scientific Projects and Technology Commercialisation, presented the list of documents required for participation in the competitions. The presentation covered the preparation and formalisation of documents to be submitted by both the applicant and the University. It also addressed methods for calculating the requested funding, planning project expenses and presenting costs in accordance with the competition requirements.
K. Akhmet, Senior Manager of the Office of Scientific Projects and Technology Commercialisation, introduced the procedure for registering applications in the information system of the National Center of Science and Technology Evaluation. He also outlined recent updates to the information platform and explained the main stages of working in the system.
At the end of the seminar, the participants asked questions on the key topics discussed and received comprehensive answers.
