


PhD student Symbat Yeszhanova of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics completed a mandatory international research internship at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) (USA) from May 17 to June 20, 2026.
The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is one of the leading research universities internationally recognized for its excellence in scientific research and innovation.
During the internship, the doctoral student explored contemporary research trends in mathematics education and enhanced her theoretical and practical expertise in mathematics teaching methodology, the application of innovative pedagogical technologies, and the conduct of scientific research. In addition, she exchanged experience with faculty members and researchers of the university, further developing her professional competencies within an international academic environment.
As part of the internship, the research being conducted within the framework of her doctoral dissertation was thoroughly analyzed, and future directions for its development were identified. The knowledge and experience gained during the internship have contributed significantly to improving the quality of her research activities, facilitating the integration of international best practices into the national education system, and strengthening the scientific outcomes of her doctoral dissertation.
The internship provided valuable opportunities for academic collaboration, professional growth, and the expansion of international research networks, further supporting the doctoral student’s development as a researcher and educator.
