Doctoral students f the 8D01503 – Biology educational program at Ilyas Zhansugurov Zhetysu University, Kuanysh Shalabayeva and Aigul Akylbekova, completed an international research internship at the University of Žilina (Slovak Republic) from July 1 to August 1, 2026.
During the internship, the doctoral students conducted research activities within the academic and research environment of the University of Žilina under the supervision of their international academic advisors. They also exchanged scientific experience in the fields of their doctoral dissertation research. As part of their collaboration with the international advisors, the main directions of their dissertation projects were discussed, while the research methodology and approaches to conducting scientific studies were thoroughly analyzed.
Throughout the internship, the doctoral students collected scientific materials, research data, and other relevant information necessary for the successful completion of their dissertation research. In addition, the content of their dissertation projects was reviewed, and further directions for improving their research work were identified.
Upon successful completion of the 72-hour international research internship program, Kuanysh Shalabayeva and Aigul Akylbekova were awarded certificates confirming the completion of the international research internship.
The research internship at the University of Žilina contributed to strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Slovak Republic, expanding collaboration with international academic advisors, collecting valuable research materials, enhancing the doctoral students’ research competencies, and improving the quality of their dissertation research.
The doctoral students’ academic supervisor is Danagul Mukasheva, Head of the Department of Natural Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Their international academic advisors are Martina Haas, PhD, Associate Professor, and Professor Marian Janiga, Candidate of Biological Sciences.
