The Asian Weightlifting Championship among youth is currently being held in Tashkent. Akzhol Kurmanbek, a student of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts at I. Zhansugurov Zhetysu University, competed in the 85 kg weight category and became the Asian Champion.
According to the results of the competition, Akzhol Kurmanbek lifted 160 kg in the snatch and 198 kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 359 kg. In addition, he set two new Asian records.
