





Faculty members of the School of Law and Economics and the Faculty of Humanities of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, R. Seilkassymova and O. Tursynbayev, completed a research fellowship at Lund University from May 1 to June 30, 2026.
The fellowship was organized as part of the international research project POLCA, “The Political Economy of Legal and Governance Reform in Non-Western Societies: Insights from Central Asia.”
As part of the fellowship, R. Seilkassymova delivered a presentation at a research seminar on “Medical Waste Regulation in Kazakhstan in the Context of Legal and Governance Reforms: From Sanitary Control to Digital Monitoring.”
O. Tursynbayev conducted research on “Public Education Policy and Human Capital Development in Kazakhstan: A Historical-Institutional Analysis.” The study focused on the historical development of Kazakhstan’s education policy, its institutional evolution, and the role of the education system in human capital development.
During the research fellowship, the faculty members worked within the academic environment of Lund University, explored relevant academic literature available through the university library and electronic resources, and systematically organized research materials related to their respective topics.
