HISTORY OF THE FACULTY OF LAW AND ECONOMICS

The Faculty of Law and Economics was established on July 1, 2017 by merging two faculties, namely the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Finance and Economics. The deans were in different years:

- PhD, Baurzhan Taubayev - since 2017 to 2022;

- PhD, Timur Zhumagulov - since 2022 to 2024;

- PhD, Galym Teleuyev - from 2024 to present.

At the moment, the Faculty of Law and Economics consists of 3 departments:

1. Department of public administration and management;
2. Department of economic and service;
3. Department of law disciplines.

On February 5, 2025, Alibek Bolat, a senior lecturer at the department of Law disciplines, won the title of "Best Young Scientist" and took 1st place in the international competition of scientific papers "Endless light and Science", held in Astana.

1st year student of the Jurisprudence specialty Manarkhanov Yerkhan took 1st place and became the champion of the tournament at the international tournament "EURASIAN JIU JITSU CUP 2025", which was held in Astana from February 20 to 25, 2025.

On November 30, 2024, 2nd-year students of the Department of Law disciplines: Amanzholova Farida Askarovna; Beisembayeva Amina Rinatovna; Kuldasov Alisher Rustemovich; Nurgudurov Azamat Maratovich and Taskynuly Daryn under the scientific supervision of Teleuev Galym took 2nd place in the international competition on taxation in the form of a trial between a taxpayer and a tax authority JurAsia InterTax 2024.

On September 25-26, 2024, the international intellectual competition "Student Energy Challenge" was held as part of the 29th international exhibition and conference "Oil and Gas". According to the results of the competition, the university team "7.PRO", which included students of the faculty of law and Economics, were won this competition.

On February 27, 2025 the contest "Miss ZhU - 2025" was held at Zhetysu University. In this contest, a 1st-year student majoring in law enforcement service Yeshan Aisha took 1st place and received this title.
