A young scientist from Zhetysu University developed a course on the international platform Coursera

A young researcher at Zhetysu University, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Raigul Zheldibayeva, has co-developed the online course “Introduction to AI-Supported Language Education” for the international educational platform Coursera in collaboration with professors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (USA), one of the world’s leading universities.

The inclusion of Zhetysu University as an affiliated institution among the course authors reflects the University’s growing international research partnerships and its increasing recognition within the global academic community.

The course consists of three modules and provides a comprehensive overview of the scientific and methodological foundations for the effective integration of artificial intelligence into language education. Dr. Raigul Zheldibayeva authored the third module, which explores both the theoretical framework and practical case studies on the application of AI in language teaching and learning.

Тhis achievement is the outcome of her research internship in the United States under Kazakhstan’s “500 Scientists” program.

During the internship, the young researcher participated in international research projects, published articles in high-impact academic journals, and was awarded the status of Research Affiliate at the Department of Education Policy, Organization and Leadership (EPOL) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

The publication of this new course on the Coursera platform serves as another strong testament to the international research excellence of Zhetysu University and highlights the growing contribution of Kazakhstani science to the global educational landscape.
