The Chairman of Board – Rector of Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, Yermek Buribayev, met with professors and students from the University of Zurich (Switzerland).
During the meeting, the participants discussed opportunities to strengthen academic cooperation between the two universities, implement joint research initiatives, and expand academic mobility programs.
Welcoming the delegation, Rector Yermek Buribayev emphasized that Zhetysu University remains committed to international collaboration and is fully prepared to provide comprehensive support to international faculty members and students throughout their studies and research activities in Kazakhstan. He also wished the students academic success, productive research experiences, and an enriching opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people.
In turn, Professor Peter Finke expressed his sincere appreciation to the university leadership, noting that a comprehensive and engaging academic program had been thoughtfully organized for the visiting students. One of the highlights of the meeting was when two students from the University of Zurich delivered their words of gratitude in the Kazakh language, receiving a warm and enthusiastic response from the audience.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to further strengthening the friendship and long-term partnership between the two universities.
