Zhetysu University Welcomes First-Year Students at the “A Step Towards the Future Together” Orientation Ceremony
The “A Step Towards the Future Together” welcoming ceremony for first-year students was held at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, marking the beginning of a new academic year. The event created a warm and inspiring atmosphere for young people taking their first steps into university life.
This academic year, 2,019 students have been admitted to Zhetysu University across bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programmes.
During the ceremony, distinguished veteran educators welcomed the new students and offered their blessings, speaking about the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities that come with university life.
The Rector of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, Professor Yermek Boribayev, addressed the students, congratulating them on the beginning of a new academic year and wishing them success as they embark on their journey in education and research.
“Today is a special day for each of you. By crossing the threshold of our university for the first time, you have become part of a great academic community. Ahead of you lies a wealth of opportunities to acquire knowledge, develop your talents, make new friends, and grow into accomplished professionals.

Become highly qualified specialists who will contribute to the university’s achievements and serve the future of our country. May your student years be filled with meaningful experiences, inspiring discoveries, and remarkable achievements,” the Rector said.
The first-year students were also introduced to the university’s academic environment, internal regulations, educational opportunities, student organisations, and youth initiatives.
The “A Step Towards the Future Together” welcoming ceremony concluded with a lively concert programme, adding a festive touch to the beginning of the students’ university journey.
