



































As part of the “Кітап оқитын ұлт” (“A Nation That Reads”) project, Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugirov hosted an educational and insightful meeting dedicated to the book “The Phenomenon of the Kurultai”.
The event brought together prominent state and public figures, scholars, the authors of the book, as well as university faculty members and staff.
The meeting was chaired by Yermek Buribayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University, who highlighted the significance of the publication.
“The establishment of the Kurultai as a unicameral supreme representative body is one of the important stages in the constitutional development of our country. The publication of the book ‘The Phenomenon of the Kurultai’ at this particular stage provides an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the historical roots of the Kurultai institution and its significance in today’s socio-political context,” the Rector noted.
Dias Yesdauletov, Deputy Akim of the Zhetisu Region, who attended the meeting as a special guest, highlighted the book’s historical and educational value, as well as its socio-political significance.
The authors of “The Phenomenon of the Kurultai”, Omarхан Oksikbayev and Zaripbay Orazbay, presented the key ideas of their work and highlighted the historical continuity between the traditional Kurultai and the contemporary public institution. The authors also announced plans to hold a special presentation of the book in Türkiye in the future. The publication has been released in four languages.
During the meeting, participants discussed the promotion of national values, strengthening social cohesion, developing a culture of reading, and fostering a spiritually mature and intellectually developed society.
