At Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies organized a Language Fair dedicated to the languages taught by the department and the cultures of the countries where they are spoken.
The event aimed to introduce first-year students to the department’s language programmes, broaden their understanding of cultural diversity, and encourage greater interest in learning foreign languages.
Themed language stations featured traditional national dishes, photo zones dedicated to different cultures, quizzes, and interactive activities, giving participants an opportunity to learn more about the traditions and cultural heritage of various countries.
The distinguished guests of the event included Chairman of the Board and Rector Yermek Buribayev and Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy Bolat Seriyev. The guests visited the language stations and engaged in conversations with students and faculty members.
One of the highlights of the Language Fair was a musical performance by the students. They performed a song they had independently translated into English, German, Turkish, Chinese, and Korean, showcasing linguistic and cultural diversity through the universal language of music.
