International scientific symposium

From May 19 to 25, 2026, Zhadyra Sagyman, Researcher and Lecturer at the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Research Institute of Biotechnology and Ecology, and Muratbekova Ayaulym, Researcher at the same laboratory, participated in the international symposium “Symposium on Dairy Science and Human Nutrition 2026,” organized by Jiangnan University in Wuxi, People’s Republic of China.

During the symposium, the latest scientific research in the fields of dairy science, dairy microbiology, probiotics and human nutrition, as well as food biotechnology, was presented and discussed. Particular attention was given to milk proteins, bioactive peptides, fermentation processes, and the role of functional foods in maintaining and promoting human health.

Jiangnan University is one of China’s leading institutions in the field of food science and technology. Following the symposium, with the support of Professor Peng Zhou from the Institute of Food Science and Technology, a visit to the institute was organized, providing an opportunity to participate in short-term training workshops. Ms. S. Zhang, Assistant Researcher and a graduate of the University of Leeds (United Kingdom), provided a detailed introduction to the institute’s laboratories and research infrastructure. In addition, professional contacts were established with young researchers, and prospects for future scientific collaboration were discussed.

The business trip was carried out within the framework of the research project AP25793809, “Study of the Dynamic Changes in the Natural Microbial Composition of Mare’s Milk at Various Low Temperatures and Its Relationship with Physicochemical Properties.”

Participation in the international symposium contributed to the exchange of scientific knowledge, the establishment of new professional connections, and the development of international cooperation in the field of food biotechnology.
